Getty Center
LOCATION:
LOS ANGELES
The Getty Center was designed by architect Richard Meier and built in 1997. The complex was built on top of a hill in the Santa Monica Mountains with views of Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. The Getty Center's remarkable travertine reflects Southern California's light, showcasing its beige hue and fossilized texture. Natural light is another key architectural feature, illuminating the interiors through glass walls, with adjustable louvers and shades ensuring the artworks' protection.
